I'm Norman Reid, a long-time freelance photographer living and working in northern Virginia. My specialization is images of the rural landscape, but I also enjoy close-up and macrophotography. While I especially enjoy capturing images of rural America, I have other interests and my photos reflect a variety of other subjects.
Haunting back roads and lonely lanes is my passion and the site for my best images.
I've traveled widely in the rural areas of the United States, making many images of small towns and the open country. For decades, I shot with film, both color and black & white, and I've amassed hundreds of thousands of images. Now primarily a digital photographer, I shoot with Nikon, Hasselblad, and Leica gear to get the highest quality images. If you happen to visit my home area, you may just find my red pickup truck parked along a country road and me, camera in hand, composing an image.
